Little Boys

"Little boys come in all shapes and sizes
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises
With misshapen halos
And mischievous grins
Small dirty faces and sweet, sticky chins
They'll keep you so busy, and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile
And no greater treasure has brought homes more joy
Than a curious, active
And lovable boy!"

Clark's 4th Birthday

The morning of Clark's Birthday we woke up to him shaking us and telling us that we needed to come see the streamers and balloons and presents in the livingroom.  So we all got up and had some breakfast.  We made him a #4 shaped pancake.
Then we opened presents.  He was so spoiled!!  He got a his own tool box full of his own little tools, a Diego telescope, a Diego toddler tough digital camera, lots of cars, a Hooked on Phonics word master, even more cars from his Aunt Kaitlin and Uncle Nathan, a card with money from G & G Robison and rollerskates from G & G Merkley.  Spoiled!!!
He had so much fun playing with all his new toys.  This is like the most awesome picture ever!!
We took a little drive down to the airport to watch the airplanes.  He had so much fun taking pictures of the planes with his camera
We enjoyed a nice lunch at Joe's Crab Shack.  It was pretty good.  Kalvin LOVED the fish.  Ive never seen him eat anything so fast.
I even tried crab.  It wasnt bad at all.  Usually its the texture that always freaks me out with sea food, but crab was good.  I even manned up and used the little tool to crack them open myself.  Brad was so proud.
He wasn't super happy that they sang "Happy Birthday" to him and made him wear this dumb crab.  It was pretty funny.
Then we came home and watched "Cars" and made pizza.  Then I put the finishing touches on his cake.  He was very impressed.  It wasnt perfect, but he loved it, so Im happy.
Plus, it was tasty!!
Happy Birthday to our 4 year old!!!!!!!

Heart of Gold

Today my baby turns 4.  Today is Clark's Birthday.  I cannot even begin to express how happy I am that this tiny person came into my life.  He is amazing.  I am constantly surprised by how sweet and smart he is.  The name, "Clark" means "Scholar" and its so very fitting!  He is such a little thinker.  Always so many questions and he always remembers the answers we give him.  He is so funny too!  Who knew a toddler could be witty :)  But he totally is.  He has a heart of gold!  So kind to everyone and so loving.  I could seriously go on for hours and hours about this boy, but the best way to sum it all up is this:  He was so meant to be my first child!  You know why?  Because he is so sweet, so honest and obedient, so patient and forgiving, so all-around wonderful, that he makes me feel like a good Mom!  I seriously have so many people comment on what an amazing child he is.  They always ask me what I did to get him to be the way he is.  They always say, "How did you get him to like carrots over ice cream?" or "How did you get him to sleep in until 8:00am everyday?" They always say they wish he was their child.  What Mom wouldnt feel like "Mom of the Year" hearing stuff like that?  Everyday, this boy makes me feel like "Mom of the Year".  He makes me feel like I know what Im doing.  He gives me the courage to have more kids.  Even though I know that him being the way he is has nothing to do with me!  Like seriously, nothing.  I dont know why he likes carrots over ice cream.  I dont.  He was born that way.  He was born a perfect little boy who came to earth to teach us to be happier.  To be better.  To be more like him.  We are a very blessed family to have him!  Happy Birthday to my baby!!!

Snow

A few weeks ago we decided we should plan a day to go play in the snow.  Then, we thought we may as well spend the night wherever we go.  Then we thought, "well since we're staying one night, we may as well stay two nights".
We went to Cedar City!!  Of course :)  We have missed it since coming back to Vegas after the Summer there.  Plus, we can never pass up an opportunity to see Scott and Emily!!
As soon as we drove into Cedar, we just kept right on going up into the mountains
We totally saw an eagle just sitting out on the frozen lake, fishing.  We were wishing we had a better camera so that we could have got some better pictures, but oh well.
Later we checked into our hotel, had some dinner with Scott and Em and then decided to go for a swim.  We had to walk outside in our swimming suits to get to the pool and it was freezing.  So.. Emily and I may have worn our boots and coats with our swimming suits and looked kinda like street walkers.
The kids loved the water.  Kalvin wanted nothing to do with the pool though.  He liked the warm jacuzzi.  Clark kept going back and forth between the two though.
Kalvin was a little bit sick and one night when we were all in bed, he just wouldnt fall asleep.  So, Brad went and got him out of his crib and put him in bed with us.  Just as they were snuggled in, Kalvin started coughing so hard that he made himself throw up.  It was all over him and Brad and our bed!  So gross!  So we were up at midnight, showering and scrubbing  and changing bedding.  So fun.
Our day of sledding was so fun!!  The kids were in heaven!
Brad's always so entertaining
Clark went down the hill all by himself, the little daredevil!
We had some wonderfully lazy mornings sleeping in and then eating breakfasts of bananas and chocolate milk while we watched "AFV".  Clark thinks that show is so funny.
Before we drove home, we had to stop at the canyon park and get just a few more minutes in the snow
Now that we have thoroughly enjoyed winter, Im very ready for Spring :)
