So last Spring when Brad and I decided we were moving our family up to Lovelock, we came up here for a weekend to find a place to live. There were no houses or apartments for rent at the time, so we thought, well we're going to be here for at least a couple years, we may as well buy a place. So the realtor here took us to the few houses that were for sale here. And they were.. lets just say, not anything we wanted to invest in. After a disappointing day of seeing nothing we were interested in, the realtor drove us down a pretty little street and pointed to a little blue house with big pine trees out front and said that the house had been up for sale a while ago, but that the owners took it off the market and that maybe they would be interested in selling it.. Well, I guess that was good enough for Brad, because as soon as the realtor dropped us off at our car, we drove straight back to the house. We got out, walked up to the door and knocked. When the door opened, Brad introduced us and said, "we are moving up here soon and heard that your house use to be up for sale and we were just wondering if you'd be interested in selling it?" haha I couldnt believe that he was actually doing what he was doing, but I am so glad that he did! We were invited in to look at the house and the owners were infact, interested in selling. We made an offer and then started the long process of paperwork.
Unfortunately, there were some complications and the sellers had to back out at the last minute. It sucked. Bad. But we made the most of it and things worked out and we found a rental house. And then about a week after we moved into the rental, we were contacted again by the realtor who said that the owners were ready again to sell the house. We went back and forth trying to decide what to do. But, after learning that our rental house was being sold and getting the sellers of the blue house to knock a good chunk off the price of the house, we decided to go for it again.
We had lots and lots and lots of paperwork we had to do. Seems like every night for 2 months we spent signing and sorting through a whole new list of documents sent to us by someone. It was a little stressful to say the least. |
